Doctor Who Series 11 Analyzed in new book “Sheffield Steel”
July 24th, Indianapolis Indiana The latest Series of the television show Doctor Who gets a deep-dive analysis in the new book “Sheffield Steel” by Sam Maleski. Exploring every episode of the series, as well as the comics and novels that tied into it, Maleski asks big questions about the series and it’s ideas. “I don't necessarily want to change anyone's opinions on series 11,” Maleski said, “but I think that I want to try and show people, as much as possible, that it's still very interesting media.” From exploring the history of colonialism in “Demons of the Punjab”, to the political implications of “Kerblam!”, Sheffield Steel is a look into the ideas of the 13th Doctor’s era no fan should miss! Maleski has written fiction for the 10,000 Dawns sci-fi series, and is most known for his work running the Downtime Doctor Who analysis website. “Sheffield Steel” also features art by Minnesota artist Rachel Johnson, notable for her work on her independent comics, and illustrations for the sci-fi novel “Death and Doubling Cubes”. “When I first saw Sam’s essays, I knew this was going to be a special book,” publisher James Wylder said. “I think Doctor Who fans are going to really enjoy this, and get some amazing new things out of Series 11 after they read it.
