Relaunching their website with new content for their most popular story of all time, Arcbeatle Press is excited to bring on the next steps in the adventures of Cwej: The Series.

Shutter Speed came onto the scene as a fresh entry point to the series with record-breaking readership, and now the story has been reinvigorated with a beautiful illustration by artist Ivq, and new vignettes spinning off from it by writers James Wylder, Louis Peacock, Theta Mandel, and Erika De Atayde.

“Shutter Speed was a monumental moment for Arcbeatle Press, and Cwej. It proved that Chris Cwej stood on his own as a hero without needing any nostalgia or old lore. The letters we got from readers who weren’t familiar with anything Cwej had been in before, but had fallen in love with him and his young companion Sang Mi, gave us a renewed confidence to push onward,” writer James Wylder said.

“With relaunching our website, we’re so excited for new readers to discover Shutter Speed in an improved form, and for existing fans to enjoy what we’ve added,” said editor James Hornby.

Cwej: Summer Wicked Brings Cwej to a New Challenge

Readers were shocked at the dramatic ending of the Cwej novel Lungbarrow by Loomlight, and with Cwej: Seasons that journey has only gotten more dramatic. In the new volume, Summer Wicked, the deep relationship between Chris and his old friend Roz Forrester will get delved into far deeper. 

“Bringing Roz back from the dead in Lungbarrow by Loomlight was a massive swing for this series. As we go through the seasons, things will become more and more complicated for her and Chris. As you read Cwej: Summer Wicked, you’ll see seeds being planted for where the final two Seasons installments will be headed. Twists and turns are inevitable, but Chris has historically been a good navigator,” said range editor Hunter O’Connell

“Readers may recognize some returning names, but my goal for Cwej: Seasons was to enlist as many new writers as possible, with a focus on experienced professionals from outside the fandom. Cwej Odyssey Returns, and Ends, with Cwej30 Issue 6

Cwej: Odyssey returns for a final plus-sized issue with ten dynamic stories, including a novel length adventure for Jhe Sang Mi in The Adjudicator’s Apprentice by James Wylder. Chris Cwej and Sang Mi have been exploring America on a grand road trip, stretching things out, delaying the inevitable final encounter that lies ahead of them. Meeting SIGNET, Moth Man and more, Chris and Sang Mi’s Odyssey has never been greater, and they’ve never depended on each other more — but can the two of them handle the possibility of being wrenched apart? This dazzling issue sets the stage for Cwej: IF! 

“The Adjudicator’s Apprentice is the biggest swing I’ve gotten to take as a writer, ever. And that I got to tell such a deeply personal story in Cwej: The Series has been a real honor. I don’t think readers are ready for what’s about to unfold, and I couldn’t be more excited to get it into their hands,” said Wylder.
